Eligible customers can try Postly Ads. Coming soon identifies this early release; it does not block access. Network permissions, account roles and provider approvals still apply. Unsupported or unauthorized operations show an error.
Where to find the tools
Products → Ads management contains ad accounts, guided creation and campaign management. Analytics & insights contains ad reports and comparisons. The public preview pages are Postly Ads, Google Ads management and Meta Ads management.
Create an ad
- Choose a connected advertising account. A social publishing connection alone does not provide advertising access.
- Select a format and follow its guide. Some formats require assets, feeds, forms or app events configured in the provider first.
- Enter the website destination, audience or keyword targeting, and creative.
- Review the budget, account currency and campaign settings.
- Create the campaign paused. Activation will be a separate, explicit step.
Google and Meta validate ads and decide policy eligibility and delivery. A saved campaign is not a guarantee of approval or impressions.
Google ad formats
- Search: responsive text ads and phrase-match keywords.
- Display: responsive image ads with landscape and square images.
- Performance Max: an asset group with text, brand name, logo and images. Configure conversion tracking first; Google may generate additional assets.
- Shopping: Standard Shopping with a linked Merchant Center feed and an all-products group. Check the feed label and maximum CPC.
- Demand Gen: image ads with a logo and landscape/square assets, or video ads using an existing YouTube video ID.
- App installs: store app ID, text assets and target install cost. Configure app conversion tracking first.
New campaigns use English and the selected country. Advanced bidding, feed configuration and legacy Video campaign creation remain in Google Ads. The guide shows the bidding approach before review.
Facebook and Instagram ad formats
Choose the connected Page and eligible Instagram identity, destination and placement. Available workflows include single image, single video, image carousel, catalog product ads, collection, instant-form leads, click-to-message, app installs and Boost post.
Carousel uses 2–10 image cards. Catalog ads require an existing product set and pixel. Collection reuses a creative and Instant Experience prepared in Meta; this is not an Instant Experience editor. Instant forms must already exist with the required privacy information. Messaging and app promotion require the corresponding accounts, application and events to be configured in Meta.
Manage existing campaigns and ads
Choose Campaigns, Ad groups / Ad sets, or Ads, then open an item's action menu. Changes have a review step:
- Pause, activate or permanently delete supported campaigns, groups and ads.
- Rename campaigns, groups and Meta ads.
- Change supported daily budgets; shared Google budgets and Meta lifetime budgets remain in native tools.
- Change Google campaign or Meta ad-set schedules.
- Change maximum CPC for manually bid Google ad groups.
- Update Meta ad-set country and age targeting while preserving existing interests, exclusions and placements. Local-area targeting must be edited in Meta.
- Edit Google responsive Search text and destination, or Meta single-image/video text and destination while retaining media. Published Boost posts and specialist creative edits remain in native tools.
Account roles, platform permissions and configuration determine which actions are possible. Meta requires ads_management to change ads; ads_read alone is for reporting. Google account privileges still apply. Billing settings and advanced controls remain in the providers.
Use insights to choose the next action
Start by checking the account, date range and campaign status. Investigate missing delivery before increasing a budget. Compare ads with the same objective and meaningful data. Different currencies, attribution models and conversion events can make direct rankings misleading.
Ad insights and comparisons keep this context visible. An observed difference suggests a test; it does not establish a controlled A/B-test winner or guarantee growth.
Costs and availability
Advertising spend is billed by Google or Meta separately from Postly. Ads access is for Pro and Enterprise. LTD accounts need API access. Other plans, including legacy subscriptions, must upgrade. Coming soon is a badge, not an additional access restriction.
Boost post from publishing
Open a published post’s menu and choose Boost post. Choose a Meta ad account and its authorized Facebook Page, then select exactly one successfully published Facebook or Instagram version. Instagram needs the Page linked to its publishing identity. Other channel versions remain untouched; failed deliveries and unsupported stories are excluded.
Review the country, engagement goal, daily budget, beneficiary and payer. The original post is reused, not edited or republished. Review a paused campaign and activate it separately when ready for advertising charges. Meta has the final say on content, music rights, creative compatibility and delivery.
Media preparation and fixes
Google Search uses text assets. Google image assets must total no more than 7.5 MB for a review. Display needs landscape (1.91
) and square JPEG/PNG images below 5 MB, a business name, short headlines, a long headline and descriptions.Facebook and Instagram image ads use a feed image or 9
Stories image. Inspect the media preview. Supported image fitting saves a padded JPEG copy, preserving the original. It cannot repair rights or policy issues.Use MP4 with H.264 video, AAC audio or silence, fast-start metadata, 1–60 seconds and up to 64 MB. Choose a thumbnail and match the placement ratio. Video re-encoding remains manual; Meta must finish processing before delivery.
Objectives and authorization
Use Traffic for website visits, Awareness for reach, Engagement for interactions, and website Leads or Sales with configured conversion tracking. Website conversions require an accessible pixel and event. Authorize Meta ads management from the ad connection menu; reporting permission alone does not allow changes.
Review and uncertain outcomes
Check provider, account, currency, budget and targeting before confirming. Daily budgets follow network spending rules. Shared Google budgets and Meta lifetime budgets are edited natively. Recent activity records successful and uncertain operations. If the provider does not confirm a request, check the native account before creating another campaign. Postly does not automatically repeat creation requests.
Generate copy and media with AI
Choose Write with AI beside ad text fields, or Generate from AI beside media controls. Enter your prompt, review the result, and choose Use this result to return it to the draft. The publishing editor's Attach files card also offers Generate from AI.
Images and video require an active AI Studio subscription with available credits, or a connected supported AI API key. Text can use your included text-token allocation. Provider capabilities, quota and charges still apply. AI images and videos go through the same ad validation as uploads; generation does not guarantee compliance, rights or approval.
