Bluesky requires a verified account email before you can upload a video. Check this before your first video, especially if you recently created your Bluesky account and connected it to Postly. Connecting the account to Postly does not verify its email address.
This is email confirmation, separate from a Bluesky verification badge or a custom domain handle.
Verify your email in Bluesky
- Open the Bluesky app and go to Settings → Account → Email.
- Request email verification and look for the confirmation code in the inbox associated with that Bluesky account.
- Enter the code in Bluesky and confirm that your email is verified. If the email is missing, check your spam or junk folder and confirm the account email is correct before requesting another code.
- Return to Postly and open the affected post.
Retry only the failed Bluesky destination
A video can fail on Bluesky while the same campaign publishes successfully to other platforms. Review the result for each destination before retrying.
- Confirm that Bluesky failed and that no Bluesky post was created. Check the native Bluesky profile if the result is unclear.
- Retry only the failed Bluesky destination after completing email verification.
- Exclude destinations that already published successfully from the retry to avoid duplicate posts.
If Bluesky rejected the video before creating a post, that failed upload did not create a live Bluesky post. Do not assume this applies to every publishing error; check the result before retrying.
If the upload still fails
Check the error shown in Postly and review the current content format requirements. Email verification is one possible cause; video requirements, account limits, and service errors can also prevent an upload.
If the problem continues after verification, contact Postly support with the post details and Bluesky error message. Do not share your password or email confirmation code.
