Start from Products to find social publishing, blog publishing, email marketing and WhatsApp marketing. Each destination has different content and delivery requirements.
| Workflow | Starting point | Review before publishing |
|---|---|---|
| Social | Products → Social publishing | Selected accounts, caption, media and each platform preview |
| Blog | Products → Blog publishing | Article formatting, title, destination settings, featured image and draft or publish status |
| Products → Email marketing | Connected provider, intended audience, subject, sender identity and email body | |
| Products → WhatsApp marketing | Connected business phone number, approved template, language, body variables and recipients |
The Social, Blog, Email and WhatsApp shortcuts on Home, Products and Publishing open their focused editors directly. Only matching destinations are offered: social accounts, blog sites, email audiences or WhatsApp business numbers. New blog and email posts use rich formatting. Existing mixed-channel drafts remain editable without losing their destinations.
The Manage posts section on Publishing brings content together. Use the compact status and publishing-type filters to find drafts, approvals, recurring or scheduled posts, a particular publishing workflow, or bulk imports. More filters includes dates, destinations, labels and media. Bulk CSV, Google Sheets, Auto Post and the visual planner remain accessible from Publishing.
Blog articles
The blog editor supports WordPress, Ghost, Hashnode, DEV.to and Blogger. Available settings differ by destination: a field supported by one service is not automatically supported by another.
Use the article readiness panel for word count, estimated reading time, heading outline and missing-title reminders. These checks do not measure search ranking. Review the title, headings, links and images, then choose the destination's settings. For WordPress SEO, confirm that the selected plugin and its API permissions support writing the requested metadata. A remotely saved draft is not a publicly published article. Check the returned article link and any delivery warnings before retrying.

Email campaigns
Connect your email provider and select the intended audience. Postly supports integrations with ActiveCampaign, Beehiiv, Brevo, Kit and Mailchimp; available resources, templates and sending permissions depend on that provider and account.
Check the subject, preview text, sender identity, links and images. Manage subscriber permission and unsubscribe preferences in the email provider. Use the provider's preview and test-send tools where available before sending to your audience.
Scheduling in Postly and a provider accepting a campaign are separate from delivery to subscribers. Check the provider's campaign status and reports for sending progress, bounces and engagement. Beehiiv creates posts asynchronously, so receiving a post ID does not prove creation or sending has completed. If the result is uncertain, inspect the existing provider campaign before sending again.
Provider references: Mailchimp send checklist, Kit broadcasts, Beehiiv post creation and Brevo marketing events.
WhatsApp messages
Publishing uses an approved WhatsApp template. Choose its language and fill in the body variables, then select recipients or saved contact lists. Use {{name}} or {{first_name}} in body values or text headers to personalize from saved contact names. Missing names stop the campaign before the first send.
The template settings support text, image, video or document headers and one dynamic URL button at index 0. Media headers require a public HTTPS URL. Match these parameters to the approved template; this is not a free-form rich-text editor, and other button configurations are not supported by these controls.
When importing contacts, use phone,name,opt-out to mark a suppressed contact. Suppression in any saved list on the connected account overrides direct recipient entry and other list membership. Equivalent phone numbers are deduplicated. Confirm recipient opt-in before sending; this confirmation is required by Postly but does not itself establish permission.
Only include recipients who have given permission to receive your messages, and remove anyone who opts out. Saving a phone number in a contact list does not establish permission. WhatsApp requires approved templates to initiate conversations; free-form replies are allowed within the customer service window described in its Business Messaging Policy.
Use the template test-send action before a campaign. Review delivery and read updates separately from initial acceptance. For partial or uncertain results, inspect recipient outcomes before retrying the entire audience.
Review each outcome
A saved draft, accepted schedule, accepted provider request, published article and delivered message describe different stages. Review each destination separately when a post has multiple targets. Keep the existing remote IDs and links when investigating failures so that a retry does not unintentionally create another article or campaign.
Analytics by workflow
Use the workflow-specific results links beside Publishing performance on Home, or open Analytics & reports and choose Delivery & results under Publishing workflows. Workflow management pages also link to their matching analytics. Choose Social, Blog, Email or WhatsApp and a 7-, 30- or 90-day period.
The period selects posts created during that time. Results describe their latest retained lifetime outcomes, not activity that happened only within that period. Reports include at most the 1,000 newest posts; a partial-results notice appears when that limit is reached. CSV exports retain the period and coverage information.
- Social: published destinations and destinations awaiting publication or reporting errors. Open social analytics separately for reach and engagement.
- Blog: published destinations are separate from provider drafts and scheduled articles. Publication is not readership; views and reading time are unavailable here.
- Email: remote campaigns count once even when shared by several selected audiences. Accepted and scheduled requests await confirmation. Provider results refresh in the background for seven days after dispatch. Reported recipients, unique opens and unique clickers include only data supplied by providers. Unknown or disabled tracking stays unavailable. Kit total clicks are not combined with unique clickers. Privacy protections affect open measurements.
- WhatsApp: accepted messages, delivered messages, reads and failures are separate. Read is included in delivered, so do not add them. Unsent destinations are not counted as failed recipient messages. Missing read receipts do not establish that a message was unread.
Safe retries
Postly retains provider request receipts to avoid sending the same campaign or recipient message twice during a retry. An uncertain network result pauses automatic resending; inspect the existing provider campaign or message before creating another. Changing content or audiences after dispatch starts requires a new campaign. If an email integration partially succeeded, review the failed audiences in the provider before making a new campaign for only those audiences.
Mailchimp's send checklist must pass before dispatch. Provider acceptance is shown separately from confirmed sending. Beehiiv post creation is asynchronous; an ID or a confirmed post alone does not prove email delivery.
Admin feature usage
The admin Features report separates Social, Blog, Email and WhatsApp publishing outcomes. Accounts count distinct authors with recorded usage; repeat accounts have more than one outcome in the period. Workflow rows overlap the overall Publishing total. These are usage signals for prioritizing development, not comparable audience engagement scores. Historical backfill and partial coverage are shown explicitly.
