Open Content library → Audience → Email, or use Audience inside Email marketing. This is the home of your managed Postly Email contacts. The WhatsApp tab has its own contact lists and permissions. Permission to email someone does not establish permission to send WhatsApp marketing, or the reverse.
Postly Email and connected providers
An active Postly Email add-on is required to add or update managed Email audiences and lists. Existing contacts remain available to view and export. Pro users can also connect supported email providers; those providers retain their own audiences, sender settings and billing. Connecting a provider does not migrate its subscribers into Postly Email.
Add or import contacts
Use Add contact for a single email address and optional first name. Confirm that the person gave marketing permission. Existing opt-outs are preserved even if a later import labels that address as subscribed.
Use Import contacts for manual entry or CSV, TSV and JSON files. Review the column mapping, source, names, subscription statuses, list memberships, tags and supported custom fields before confirming. Mailchimp and beehiiv column aliases are recognized. For exports from other services, map their fields during import rather than assuming every platform uses the same headings.
Keep unsubscribe, bounce and complaint statuses in a migration export. Do not turn excluded contacts into subscribed contacts to make an import pass. Review the import results and address invalid rows. Contact-file migration does not transfer a provider's campaign history, automations or engagement reports.
Organize lists
Use Create list to organize contacts by newsletter, brand, customer group or interest. A contact can belong to multiple lists. Rename list changes its visible name while preserving existing memberships and scheduled campaign selections.
Select contacts and choose Add to list or Remove from list to change membership in batches of up to 50. These actions never change subscription permission. Removing a contact from one list does not remove it from other lists or unsubscribe it from marketing.
Use Archive list to keep a list out of new campaign selections without deleting its contacts. The Archived filter provides Restore list. Existing scheduled campaigns retain their saved audience selection; pause those campaigns separately when necessary.
Find and export contacts
Choose a list and subscription status, or search for a complete email address. Load more contacts retrieves the next page. Loaded and selected counts describe the current view, rather than the full audience size.
Export contacts exports the current filtered view as CSV, TSV or JSON, including supported custom fields and subscription statuses. Select All contacts, clear the email search and choose All statuses to export the whole audience within the displayed export limits.
Update profiles and respect opt-outs
Use a contact's menu to edit its profile, unsubscribe it, or delete the profile. Editing names, tags or lists cannot reverse an opt-out. Deleting a profile retains a minimal exclusion marker so a later import does not automatically subscribe it again.
Only subscribed contacts are eligible for a managed campaign. In the editor, select the intended list and optional tag, or explicitly choose all subscribed contacts. Where both filters are set, contacts must match both. Complete domain and sender setup before sending or scheduling.
