Publishing Workflows

Auto Post from an ecommerce source

Set up product campaigns using supported connected catalogs or public product pages, with rotation and resource limits.

A post moving into a publishing calendar

Use ecommerce Auto Post to prepare recurring product promotions for connected social channels or blog destinations. For example, a small retailer can rotate a reviewed selection of products across weekly posts instead of manually preparing the same product details each time.

Open the Ecommerce dashboard, or choose Ecommerce on the main Auto Post page.

Choose an available source

Use the providers and connection options shown in your dashboard. Availability can depend on the product, provider setup and account access. A connected store supplies product facts; it is not itself a social publishing destination. Shopify setup, when available, follows its dedicated store installation flow. Square Online uses public product URLs rather than a connected catalog in this workflow.

Do not assume every ecommerce provider, private storefront or product feature is supported. Review the displayed source options before building the campaign.

Set up the product campaign

  1. Connect the supported store in the intended workspace, or provide an eligible public product/store URL where that option is shown.
  2. Check or load the source. Use the products or collections search/filter to narrow the results and review the returned product facts.
  3. Select products and, where shown, mark priority products to promote more often. Review availability rules before allowing an unavailable product into a campaign.
  4. Add the audience, campaign purpose, tone and desired action. Supply verified offers rather than asking AI to invent discounts or urgency.
  5. Preview the copy and available product image. Confirm the product URL, price, currency and availability. Missing information should be omitted, not guessed.
  6. Choose connected destinations, publishing presets, media, approvals and the recurring schedule. Review its start time, time zone and end date, then save.

Rotation and catalog limits

The connected catalog is refreshed for a new occurrence and an eligible product is selected using the workflow's saved promotion history and configured priorities. Products can be promoted again later; this is a repeating campaign rather than a one-time import. When another eligible product exists, the rotation avoids immediately repeating the last product.

Catalog reads return up to 100 products per request. A selected product missing from the current results may be outside that catalog page or search/filter; it is not automatically proof the product was deleted. Narrow the source query or revise the selected set. A workflow with no eligible returned product needs attention before it can prepare another promotion.

Private catalog credentials and reads remain scoped to the workspace and source connection. Disconnecting a store stops that source from supplying a valid catalog; reconnect and review the campaign before resuming it.

Timing, costs and ongoing review

An unchanged product can intentionally produce a new promotional variation on a later scheduled occurrence. Use a sensible frequency and pause campaigns that are no longer relevant. Selected AI text, AI media and ordinary destination publishing follow their respective allowances. Product images may avoid AI image generation, but they must still be available and suitable for the destination.

Review volatile facts before relying on a promotion: the storefront or provider can change after preparation. Check workflow and channel history when something fails, and avoid blindly retrying an uncertain delivery. See Auto Post timing and resource use for shared scheduling and resource guidance.
