Use Blog URL to reuse a particular public article. For example, a business with a useful guide to choosing a service could share a different takeaway each week. Choose RSS feeds instead when you want to discover new articles as a publisher adds them.
Open the Auto Post dashboard and choose Blog.
Set up the article workflow
- Choose social or blog destinations and the Blog URL source.
- Paste the article's public URL, rather than a search page or account login page. Choose Check source and review what Postly can read.
- Write a brief explaining the intended audience and angle. For a social post, ask for one useful takeaway and a reason to read the original. For a blog destination, explain how the new article should differ from its source.
- Review the first output, source link and any featured image. A source image is optional and may be unavailable or unsuitable for a particular destination.
- Choose connected channels or blog sites, publishing presets, media, approvals and the recurring schedule.
- Review the start time, time zone and any end date before saving. Inspect the workflow history and destination results after the first run.
What the reader can access
The workflow uses readable public article content and metadata such as the title, description, canonical link and available source image. Login-only, blocked or heavily script-dependent pages may not expose the content you can see in your own signed-in browser. A successful browser visit alone does not guarantee Postly's public source reader can read the article.
Public source requests validate redirects and reject private network addresses and credential-bearing URLs. Source downloads are bounded to 2 MB. An unresolved redirect, access-denied response or unreadable page is a source problem; Postly should not treat it as article content.
Timing and resource use
This source creates another variation on each scheduled occurrence, even if the article is unchanged. It does not wait for the article's publication date or discover other posts on the same website. Choose a frequency that matches how often you want to reuse it.
Overlapping reads of the same exact public URL and response type can share an in-flight request. Once the request finishes, the response is not retained for the next occurrence. This keeps later runs grounded in a fresh read of the page. AI text, selected AI media and publishing use their normal allowances.
Keep the workflow useful
Review whether the article is still relevant, whether its links and offers still work, and whether the chosen angle has become repetitive. Update the brief, choose a different source or pause the workflow when it has served its purpose. If a source fails, correct the source problem and check delivery history before retrying an uncertain publication.
