Overview
We’ve done the grunt work to ensure your connected social accounts remain stable and uninterrupted for longer periods.
Note: Postly uses only official APIs from each social platform. This guarantees secure, reliable, and compliant connections that honor platform guidelines and privacy policies.
Steps

Go to the Social Accounts section
In the sidebar, click Social Accounts to view all available platforms. -
Select your social media platform
Choose from popular options like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, and more. -
Authorize the connection
Follow the secure authentication flow. You'll be redirected to log in and approve necessary permissions.
✅ Connection Permissions
To ensure full functionality and prevent connection errors, you must accept all requested permissions during the connection process.
What to Do
- Always check all boxes when permission prompts appear.
- Do not edit or uncheck any permissions—especially for Facebook and Instagram.
- These permissions enable scheduling, analytics, publishing, and connection refreshes.
Special Cases
Facebook & Instagram
These platforms offer granular controls, which can break the connection if altered. You must allow access to:
- Page management
- Instagram business accounts
- Content publishing
- Insights and analytics
Failure to grant full access can result in:
- Post failures
- Missing analytics
- Expired connections
Other Platforms
Most other platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest) use standard OAuth scopes. Simply approve the request without changes.
⚠️ Postly does not request excessive permissions—only what’s required for publishing, syncing, and analytics.
🔁 API Token Duration & Refresh
Most social platforms issue access tokens that are valid for 60 days before they expire and require reconnection.
However, Postly has implemented advanced token management that automatically refreshes your token (where supported), keeping your accounts connected for much longer without manual action.
You will receive a notification before any connection expires, with clear steps to reconnect.
🔄 Disconnecting Accounts & Scheduled Posts
- You cannot disconnect a social account if it has scheduled posts. Doing so will cause those posts to fail permanently.
- Scheduled posts are not transferable.
You cannot schedule a post to Facebook Page A, then disconnect and reconnect Facebook Page B, and expect the post to publish.
Always complete or delete any scheduled posts before removing a connected account.
Multiple Account Connection
Connecting multiple accounts (e.g., multiple Facebook Pages) may require careful session handling.
💡 Tip: Log in to each account in separate browser tabs before connecting them on Postly.

🔒 All connected platforms remain active as long as you publish at least once every 6 weeks.
Key Information
⚠️ Changing your password or logging out of the connected platform may require reconnection.
⚠️ Scheduled posts are not disrupted during reconnection, unless the account is removed.
⚠️ Only users with admin/owner access can complete the full connection process.
Supported Account Types
- Facebook & Instagram: Only supports Business Pages and Creator Accounts. Personal profiles are not allowed.
- LinkedIn: Supports personal profiles and company pages.
- TikTok: Supports both personal and business accounts.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Clear your browser cache and cookies before connecting.
- Ensure pop-ups are enabled.
- If an account fails to connect, try incognito/private mode.
- Ensure your login has the required admin permissions.
- Complete any two-factor authentication when prompted.
Security & Privacy
Postly does not store your account credentials.
We use secure OAuth flows that keep your login information private.
All permissions are limited to those required for publishing and analytics.
Auto-Reconnect & Notifications
Postly monitors token validity and will alert you before expiration.
You’ll get email and in-app notifications when reconnection is required.
