Learn how to generate and share direct connection links with clients so they can connect their own social accounts to your Postly workspace.

🚀 What is Share Connection Link?

Share Connection Link allows you to generate a direct connection URL for social platforms like:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • TikTok
  • X (Twitter)
  • YouTube

Instead of asking clients for credentials or guiding them through setup manually, you can simply send them a secure link.

The client opens the link, logs in, and connects their account through the normal OAuth flow.

⚡ How It Works

Step 1 — Open Social Connections

Navigate to:

Settings → Social Accounts

Step 2 — Select a Platform

Choose the social platform you want the client to connect.

Example:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn

Step 3 — Click “Share Connection Link”

Click:

Share Connection Link

Postly generates a secure connection URL.

Step 4 — Send the Link to Your Client

Copy and send the generated link to your client.

Example:

https://postly.ai/connect/instagram?token=xxxxx

Step 5 — Client Connects Their Account

When the client opens the link:

  1. They log in to Postly (if not already logged in)
  2. They are redirected directly to the social account connection page
  3. They complete the provider OAuth authorization flow
  4. The connected account is automatically added to your workspace

🔒 Security Notes

  • Connection links use secure temporary tokens
  • OAuth authorization is handled directly by the provider
  • Clients never need to share their passwords with you
  • Links may expire automatically for security purposes

Does the client need a Postly account?

Yes. If the client is not logged in, they will be asked to log in before connecting their social account.

No. The feature only simplifies the connection process.
