Meta Embedded Signup for WhatsApp

Embedded Signup keeps onboarding inside a guided Meta popup so users can connect WhatsApp assets without manual Cloud API setup.

Free-form WhatsApp messages are only allowed inside the active 24-hour customer service window. Templates are required for new conversations, expired windows and bulk campaigns.

Workflow

  1. 1Open the WhatsApp connection flow in Postly.
  2. 2Log into Meta when the Embedded Signup popup opens.
  3. 3Select or create the Business and WhatsApp Business Account.
  4. 4Connect or verify the phone number that will send messages.
  5. 5Approve the requested permissions and return to Postly.

Inside 24 hours

Free-form replies are allowed when the user recently messaged the business.

New outreach

Business-initiated messages require approved templates.

Bulk campaigns

CSV and Google Sheets sends should use templates and opt-in contacts.

No manual API key input

Postly receives the access token and WhatsApp asset IDs after the user grants permission. The user does not need to copy tokens, secrets or webhook URLs into Postly.

Required permissions

Postly requests whatsapp_business_messaging for sending messages and whatsapp_business_management for WhatsApp assets such as WABAs, phone numbers and templates.

Postly setup after redirect

Postly stores credentials securely, registers webhooks, syncs the phone number and maps the WhatsApp assets to the workspace.
