X launch thread checklist: sequence, links and one-off scheduling
Review an X launch thread for clear sequencing, factual claims, accessible media and one-off publishing without recurring duplicates.
By the Postly Team
Before you start
Confirm the X connection and its current access arrangement. If using your own developer credentials, check the setup and cost guidance on the X integration page before scheduling.
Prepare and review the release
- Give the opening post a complete point: what changed and who it helps. Write follow-up posts in their intended reading order.
- Keep each reply focused on one example, explanation or limitation. Place the primary destination where it is useful and check that the landing page is live.
- Preview media and accessible descriptions where supported. Use a one-off schedule: Postly does not support recurring posts for X.
- After release, open the thread and verify reply continuity. Record the actual thread URL before sending it to colleagues or reusing it in a newsletter.
Worked example
A software release thread opens with a new export option, follows with a screenshot of the output, explains who can use it, and ends with documentation. A corrected release note is an edited draft or a contextual follow-up, not an endlessly repeated launch announcement.
If something goes wrong
- Only part of the thread appears: inspect the individual results before reposting the opening message.
- Authorization failure: use the connection checklist for the selected access method.
- Destination not ready: reschedule the launch rather than publish a promise that leads to an unfinished page.
