Facebook Page access checklist for publishing teams

Separate Page permissions, account authorization and post errors when a Facebook Page is missing or a scheduled post fails.

By the Postly Team

Before you start

Identify the exact Facebook Page and the person who manages its access. A personal profile, a Page and a business portfolio are different destinations and permission contexts.

Prepare and review the release

  1. Confirm that the connecting Facebook account can manage the intended Page. Record the Page name and public URL so similarly named locations do not get confused.
  2. Review Postly in Facebook's Business integrations settings. Include the required Pages in the granted access, especially Pages created or assigned after the original connection.
  3. Reconnect or refresh Facebook in Postly, then select the Page again in the composer. Review the selected Feed, Reel, Story or Carousel destination before attaching media.
  4. Prepare a small approved test post. Check its result and the public Page before scheduling the rest of the campaign; record which teammate owns future reconnections.

Worked example

An agency can see Downtown Cafe but not the new Riverside Cafe Page. Its manager first checks Page access, then updates the existing integration's selected Pages. The test caption says 'Riverside opening hours' and uses the Riverside address, making a wrong-destination selection easy to catch during review.

If something goes wrong

  • Page absent from the authorization picker: ask its administrator to review the connecting person's access.
  • Page selectable but publishing fails: preserve the exact error and check the post format and media separately from connection access.
  • A colleague reconnects with fewer Pages: review all required destinations before saving the revised grant.
