Postly notifications for Slack

Bring actionable updates into a team channel.

Send readable alerts with a direct link to Postly through a Slack incoming webhook. Publishing content to Slack is a separate channel connection.

Send failed-post alerts to your content operations channel so the team can review the affected publication.

Connect Slack

  1. Create an incoming webhook for the intended Slack channel, following your workspace administrator’s policy.
  2. Choose Slack in Product notifications, name the connection and paste its webhook URL.
  3. Choose events and categories, save, and send a test.

Product notification questions

Which products can I choose?

Categories include Social posts, Email campaigns, Blog articles, WhatsApp posts, Polls, CRM, Post approvals, Billing and Channel connections. Available events depend on the product workflow; a category does not promise every possible event.

Can I pause a connection or change my choices?

Yes. Edit the connection, change its selected events and categories, or pause it. Pending external deliveries recheck the current connection and preferences before sending. Email has its own account and workspace choices.

Does an email campaign completion alert confirm every delivery?

No. It confirms processing finished. Review delivery, bounce and complaint results in Email for recipient outcomes.

Should my receiver handle duplicates?

Yes. External webhooks can be retried. Deduplicate the stable event ID, verify signatures and timestamps where applicable, and review delivery history when an outcome is uncertain. Do not republish content just because a notification timed out.

Are Slack notifications the same as Slack publishing?

No. Notifications report events from Postly to a Slack channel. Slack publishing sends messages and media you prepare in Postly to a connected channel. Configure each separately.
