Blogger publishing checklist: blog selection, labels and status

Check the correct Blogger destination, labels, article status and rendered media before publishing or sharing a scheduled article.

By the Postly Team

Before you start

Use the Google account authorized to publish to the intended blog. Public read access and permission to create posts are different; publishing requires authorization.

Prepare and review the release

  1. Connect Blogger through its supported authorization flow and select the exact blog. Check the public domain as well as the blog's display name.
  2. Prepare the title, body and labels. Use labels readers can navigate consistently rather than creating a new label for every keyword variation.
  3. Choose the supported draft or published status and review the scheduled timing in Postly. Inspect the article's images and links before release.
  4. Open the final Blogger article and verify its theme rendering. Copy the published permalink into the social campaign after the article is available.

Worked example

A school maintains separate parent-news and staff blogs. An event recap belongs on parent-news, uses the Events label and links to the public term calendar. The reviewer checks the blog domain before approving the post.

If something goes wrong

  • Blog absent: confirm the Google account and its access to that blog.
  • Article remains a draft: inspect the selected status and publishing result before creating another copy.
  • Layout breaks: check image dimensions and the destination theme's rendering of the article body.
