Setup guide
Connect Postly to Zapier and schedule your first text post
Create a separate API key, connect Postly, map a workspace and channel, and test a scheduled publishing request with a stable source record ID.

1.Prepare your Postly workspace
Connect the destination in Postly and confirm you can use it. Open API access and create a separate key for Zapier. Keep it out of spreadsheets, screenshots, and shared documents.
2.Connect Postly in Zapier
Add Postly to your Zap and enter the API key in the connection form. Use a trigger that represents reviewed content, such as an approved record entering a publishing queue.
3.Map Schedule Post
Select the workspace, then choose the connected channel loaded for that workspace. Map Post Text, a future Scheduled At value with a timezone, and the source system’s stable record ID.
4.Run one deliberate test
Use a controlled destination and a future time. Check the returned post ID and inspect the scheduled item in Postly before switching the Zap on. A successful editor test alone is different from an enabled Zap processing a live event.
5.Keep a reference to the result
Store the Postly post ID beside the source record. Use Find Post when you need to inspect it. Replaying unchanged inputs can recover a previous submission; changing the text, destination, source ID, or date is a new submission.
Check the result
- The API key belongs to the intended Postly access.
- The channel belongs to the selected workspace.
- The date includes a timezone and is in the future.
- The returned ID is stored; accepted does not mean published.
