Bulk Posting Made Simple

Schedule and publish multiple social media posts effortlessly using a CSV file, streamlining your content strategy.

Understanding Bulk Posting via CSV

Bulk posting via CSV enables you to upload multiple posts at once by filling out a CSV template with post details like captions, media URLs, and schedules. This method saves time and ensures consistency across your social media platforms.

Requirements:

  • Media URLs Only: Images and videos must be provided as URLs, not direct file uploads.
  • Public Access: URLs must be hosted on publicly accessible platforms without login requirements.

Bulk Posting Guide

1. Prepare Your CSV
  • Download the CSV template and make a copy: Click “File” → “Make a copy” for Google Drive, or “File” → “Download” → “Comma Separated Values (.CSV)” for a local copy.
  • Keep column headers unchanged (e.g., use "Due Date" not "Date") to avoid errors.
  • Include 4–500 rows of content; remove all instructional text before uploading.
  • Use commas for multiple image URLs; one video URL per post.
  • Do not leave any row blank after entering Due Date and Platform to prevent upload errors.
  • Remove any unnecessary columns but do not rename or delete header information.
2. Host Your Media
  • Use Postly Cloud or similar for public URLs.
  • Ensure URLs link directly to files (e.g., .jpg, .mp4).
  • Avoid YouTube for Instagram; use direct video URLs.
3. Schedule & Upload
  • All posts are uploaded in scheduled mode and publish at the specified date and time (format: mm/dd/yyyy h:mm:ss AM/PM).
  • Set Due Date 5+ minutes in the future.
  • Configure Workspace timezone in dashboard settings before uploading, as times are interpreted as local time.
  • Upload CSV to Postly to schedule posts.
4. Manage Connections
  • Connect only the social accounts, pages, and channels you want to publish to before uploading.
  • Use separate Workspaces for each business, client, or platform group to avoid frequent disconnects and reconnects.
  • Each Workspace should include all relevant social media profiles, pages, groups, or channels for that entity.
5. CSV Limitations

Our current bulk upload system has limitations due to the CSV format’s simplicity. We’re actively working to enhance flexibility.

  • You cannot specify individual pages, groups, or channels in the CSV.
  • Only include the social platform name (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Content publishes to all connected pages, groups, and channels of the listed platform in the Workspace.
  • Example: If two Twitter accounts are connected, the post publishes to both; if Facebook includes multiple pages, all receive the post.

Thank you for your patience as we improve this experience.

6. Format Your Posts
  • Format posts with line breaks: On Windows, press Alt + Enter; on Mac, press Command + Return.
  • Add blog or website URLs in the Message column to auto-display the article’s image, eliminating the need for the Image URL column.
7. Platform-Specific Options
  • Instagram: Set Reels/Stories, cover offset, first comment.
  • Google My Business: Select Post Type, add Event/Offer details.
  • YouTube: Define title, privacy, subscriber notifications.
