What MCP AutoPost does

Automate content creation and scheduling while keeping approvals, rules, and safety controls inside Postly.

AI Draft-First Automation

Agents create drafts. Postly stays in control. No direct publishing in v1.

Smart Auto-Scheduling

Postly schedules using your rules: time windows, limits, gaps, timezone, approvals.

Scoped Agent Tokens

Workspace-bound, revocable, time-limited tokens. Built for safe automation.

Audit Trail & Controls

Pause/resume, revoke instantly, and review an activity log of every agent action.

How it works (simple)

Create an Agent Token

Name the agent, choose scopes, set expiration. Token is shown once.

Agent creates drafts

Drafts show up in Postly like any other content. Optional media attachments.

Postly schedules safely

Rules decide the slot. If approvals are required, it becomes Needs Approval.

Safety & control defaults

  • No rogue posting: Agents never publish directly; drafts + scheduler only.
  • Deduplication: Use source + source_id to prevent duplicates across RSS/Sheets/webhooks.
  • Rate limits: Per-token guardrails with backoff recommendations.
  • Plan gating: AI Studio required for image/video/avatar generation.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this an “auto poster” that publishes on its own?

No. In v1, agents create drafts and can request scheduling, but Postly remains the system of record and enforces rules and approvals.

Can I run this from Google Sheets or RSS?

Yes. Sheets, RSS, and webhooks can feed content into automations that result in drafts and scheduled posts.

Do agents need my Postly API key?

No. MCP uses Agent Tokens that are scoped, workspace-bound, time-limited, and revocable.

What happens if my workspace requires approvals?

Scheduled items become Needs Approval until someone approves them—automation still works safely.

    Does AI Studio matter?

Only for media generation. Draft creation and scheduling work without AI Studio; images/videos/avatars require the AI Studio Add-on.
