Client Onboarding Checklist

Everything you need to launch campaigns in Postly in one smooth, no-stress flow.

Overview

This guide walks you through the complete onboarding process for Postly, including workspace setup, social account connections, publishing readiness, and your first successful post or campaign.

Perfect for agencies, teams, creators, businesses, and non-technical users.


1. Sign Up

Create your Postly account to get started.

Steps

  1. Visit the Postly Dashboard
    Go to https://app.postly.ai

  2. Choose a sign-up method
    You can register using:

    • Email & Password
    • Passwordless Login
    • Google
    • Apple
  3. Enter your account details
    Use the primary email address responsible for billing, subscriptions, and workspace management.

  4. Create your Organization and Workspace
    Workspaces help separate brands, clients, campaigns, or departments.

  5. Verify your email address
    Recommended for account security and required if enabling 2FA.

  6. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (Optional)
    Recommended for agencies, teams, and client workspaces.


2. Workspace Settings

Configure how your team works inside Postly.

Steps

  1. Configure your workspace timezone
    This is required before scheduling posts or email campaigns.

  2. Set up approval workflows (Optional)
    Prevent accidental publishing by requiring approvals before content goes live.

  3. Invite team members
    Add:

    • Admins
    • Editors
    • Collaborators
  4. Configure language preferences (Optional)
    Language settings can be updated anytime.


3. Connect Social & Email Accounts

Connect the platforms where you want to publish content.

Overview

Postly uses secure authorization flows. Your passwords are never stored.

Best Practice for Agencies

Invite clients into the workspace as Admins so they can securely connect their own accounts without sharing passwords.

Steps

  1. Open the Connections page
    Navigate to your workspace connection settings.

  2. Connect your social accounts
    Authorize the platforms you want to publish from.

  3. Connect your email accounts (Optional)
    Required for email campaigns and newsletters.

  4. Select pages or channels where required
    Some platforms require selecting Pages or Channels after authorization.

  5. Reconnect accounts if requested
    Platforms may occasionally expire tokens or permissions.

4. Publishing Readiness Check

5. Media & Publishing Setup

  • Keep reasonable file sizes

Postly may optimize media through:

6. Reconnect Requests

Sometimes platforms require accounts to be reconnected.

Why This Happens

Authorization tokens may expire or platforms may revoke permissions automatically.

Important

Even if an account appears connected, reconnect it if Postly requests reconnection. This refreshes authorization and usually resolves publishing issues.


7. First Successful Publish

Your onboarding is complete once your first post or campaign is successfully published or scheduled.

8. Team Member & Organization FAQs

Do invited team members need their own Postly account?

Yes. Team members must create their own Postly account before accepting workspace invitations.


Do invited users need to upgrade their own account?

No. Team members can remain on the Starter plan while working inside a premium workspace.


Can users switch between multiple workspaces?

Yes. Users can switch between personal and invited workspaces anytime.


Is an Organization required?

Yes. Organizations help organize workspaces inside Postly.


Does the Organization need to be a real company?

No. It can simply be a label used for organizing your workspaces.
