Use first comments to keep the main Reddit post useful while placing links and CTAs where they are less likely to harm deliverability.

Direct Reddit link posts are often filtered or removed. For better deliverability, create a text, image, or video post and place links in the first comment.

Workflow

  2. 2Place optional links, UTMs or CTAs in the first comment.
  3. 3Make sure the subreddit allows those links before scheduling.
  4. 4Keep the first comment helpful and specific.

Discouraged. Move the link to the first comment.

They keep the main post focused on value and reduce reliance on direct link-post automation.

What belongs there

Links, source references, product pages, UTMs and follow-up CTAs can live in the first comment when the community permits them.

What to avoid

Do not use first comments to bypass subreddit rules. If links are not allowed, the scheduled post should respect that.
